While meeting the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi on Wednesday, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat raised the issue of proposed shifting of range office of Rapid Action Force (RAF) outside the State. In the meeting, Rawat told Singh that the State Government has allotted required land for the RAF office at Sheesham Bada in Dehradun and other facilities would also be provided to the office. Pitching for retaining the important office in Uttarakhand, the CM said that the state is strategically important and many religious congregations like Kumbh, Kanwad Yatra and Char Dham Yatra are held here. To ensure peaceful holding of these events, effective presence of RAF is needed, he stressed.
