Expressing grief at the death of several persons in an accident on the Rishikesh-Gangotri national highway, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat directed the Uttarkashi District Magistrate to conduct a magisterial inquiry into the accident.
He, further, directed the DM to ensure regular fitness checks to ascertain fitness of vehicles and prevent overloading on the Yatra route. Rawat also directed the Disaster Management secretary to provide a helicopter to the district administration if needed.
