PNS

In connection with the death of a Railway Travelling Inspector of Accounts, Sunil Kumar Baluni , last Tuesday, Chief Minister Harish Rawat ordered a CBI inquiry into the case on Saturday. The Chief Minister has given directions for probing the suicide case by the CBI. He, at the same time, has called for ensuring security for the family members of the deceased.

Family members of the late Baluni met the CM at Bijapur house in Dehradun on Saturday. Rawat said that the State Government would take necessary action, keeping in view the emotions of the bereaved family.

He directed the Advocate General to inform the High Court about the details of the case. It is pertinent to mention here that the Railway employee Baluni had committed suicide by jumping before the moving link Express at around 1.45 pm last Tuesday. Earlier, hundreds of local residents, including the family members of Baluni, who were outraged over his death, staged protest at Railway Station, Dehradun and demanded a CBI probe into the death.

They alleged that Baluni was framed by some unscrupulous agents and some Railway officials. However, a case under section 306 of IPC was registered against the persons named in the suicide note left by the deceased in the Nehru Colony Police Station on Thursday.
