After winning Assembly bypolls in three constituencies, Chief Minister Harish Rawat has been laying emphasis on how to ensure party supported candidates’ victory in District Panchayat President election. In this regard CM Rawat along with Uttarakhand PCC president Kishore Upadhyaya convened a meeting with newly elected district Panchayat members and MlAs concerned at Bijapur guest house on Tuesday.
Talking to the Pioneer, Vikram Singh Negi, who was coming out after attending meeting, said that chief minsiter has categorically asked them to focus on how to ensure election of party supported candidates in the district panchayat election. For this local MlAs have been assigned to influence the district Panchayat members so that they would cast their vote in favour of congress suported candidate.
Chief Minister Rawat wants to continue his winning streak, which has been continuing after winning all three seats of assembly bypoll. Recently congress has occupied most of the Block pramukh posts of the state.
During meeting he convened a meeting with panchayat members at district wise. Due to this reason mediapersons were not even allowed inside the premise of Chief Minister’s residence.
He has categorically instructed to them that do whatever you can but wants result. Even he has convened meeting with opposite faction i.e. ex CM Vijay Bahuguna supporting MlAs. In which Subodh Uniyal, which is considered as close confidant of the Bahuguna, was seen coming out from Bijapur after attending meeting at Bijapur guest house. Although he refused to make any comment about the
meeting but said meeting was positive.
Sources said that most of the budget are directly comes to the Panchayat from union government so govenrment does not want to give opportunity to the opposition to nurture his political ground. In this scenario he has been puttting all efforts on how to win district panchayat election president post. With this victory he wants to prove before party high command that he is moving in right
direction which is why their party is winning all election one by one.
