Champion suspended for three months

The Bharatiya Janata Party has suspended its Khanpur MLA Pranav Singh ‘Champion’ from the party for a period of three months on charges of indiscipline. The decision was announced by the party’s state unit late on Saturday evening.

After preliminary inquiry into the Khanpur MLA’s alleged misbehaviour with a journalist in the recent past and other charges of indiscipline, the party’s State president Ajay Bhatt ordered his suspension from the party’s primary membership for a period of three months.  Late on Saturday evening, the BJP state general secretary Naresh Bansal informed that for the three-month duration, the Khanpur MLA will not be able to attend any of the meetings of the party or its legislators.

It will be recalled that recently a video had gone viral in which Champion was seen purportedly threatening an electronic media journalist at Uttarakhand Niwas in New Delhi.

Before that, he also grabbed headlines along with his Jhabreda counterpart Deshraj Karnwal for a spate of allegations and counters levelled by the duo on each other.
