Two of the three cell counter machines of the central lab at the associated hospital of the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) have become non-functional. The lab of the biggest hospital of the state is now dependent on only one cell counter due to which the blood test reports of the patients would get delayed. One of a technician of the hospital said that the doctors are prescribing large number of Complete Blood Cell (CBC) tests these days due to the prevalent seasonal infections. He said that the results of the machine would get affected if more than 300 tests are done from one machine in one single day. The MS of the hospital Dr K K Tamta said that the cell counters would be repaired soon.
