Hassle-free Hospital

A private hospital set up in the immediate vicinity of the Government Doon Medical College is proving a boon for the doctors of the biggest Government facility. Interestingly, the hospital owned by a former Government surgeon has all the prominent medicos of the medical college hospital on its rolls. With the modern private hospital helmed by someone who till recently was their colleague located in the neighbourhood, the doctors of the Government hospital are now nudging the patients to either get admitted in the hassle-free and soothing ambiance of the private hospital or be ready to face the ills the Government hospital must beset them with once admitted. In either of the cases, the doctors who treat them are the same but the quality of the treatment would be different. A win-win for both the doctors who are making money from both sides and the private hospital. The latter is getting business sans any effort. The only loser in this symbiotic mechanism is doubtless the patient.

Gandhi Hijacked

The foot-marches undertaken by the BJP lawmakers in their respective constituencies on Gandhi Jayanti have made the State Congress leaders unnerved. The pain of Congress over its saffron rival appropriating the legacy is visible on their faces.   They say gloomily that after hijacking the Iron Man Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, now it is turn of the Mahatma being snatched away from Congress. Observers say that the grand old party has reasons to rue the development. Congress, shorn of Gandhi, is unimaginable. Now attempts being made to drape the Mahatma in the saffron hue cannot help spawning heartburns in the Congress folds. The frustration of the party was reflected in what the State Congress chief Pritam Singh said. He said those who are out to destroy Gandhi’s ideology are reverentially invoking him.

Website Woe

Uttarakhand Government pulling out all the stops to make the ‘Destination Uttarakhand Investors summit-2018’ a mega success, a special website was created for registration of entrepreneurs. However, this is where a snag surfaces. As one opens the site to fill the required entries in the registration form the site starts to play pranks with the cursor jumping mysteriously on its own. The initial experience in mere registration being such ‘eerie’, one who longs to invest his hard-earned money in the Himalayan State cannot help giving a second thought to his investment zeal.

One hopes that the red carpet, single window system and numerous doles dished out by the State Government for the investors would clear their doubts and they will take the registration blues in the right spirit with the vast potential that Uttarakhand offers luring them to take the plunge.
