On the advise of doctors, the principal of DAV College Devendra Bhasin has gone on leave. The principal, however, has expressed deep anguish on the incident of Thursday. In a letter directed to the faculty members, Bhasin on Friday said that the incident is an attack on the college institution and appealed them to fight against this collectively.

“ The basic motive (of the incidence) was to get open the doors for wrong admissions which was not accepted. As all are aware that after completion of cycle of merit lists when all applicants have been given a chance and even then seats are left vacant, the HODs has authority to consider new cases on merit. In many Departments this has been done. But surprisingly a case of Sociology Department was made issue on which I was pressed to open all admissions without merit, which I refused,” Bhasin stated.
