While stating that the State Government was ready to present its Budget of over Rs32,000 crore for the fiscal 2015-2016, 'mobilising from its internal resources', Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Tuesday came down heavily on the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre for cutting the special financial assistance schemes being long given to the State.
Speaking to mediapersons during a visit at Kumaon on Tuesday the Chief Minister lamented that the Central Government has deprived the hill State of the special financial assistance schemes which was being given for a long time.
He also slammed State BJP leadership for ridiculing the State Government's decision to seek suggestions from cross-sections of the people ahead of finalising the State Budget. They should have welcomed such initiatives, Rawat said.
The exercise to bring people on board was an unprecedented one, he claimed.
However, what the State Government had in store for its people during the annual budget for 2015-2016 will be clear only after the Budget is presented in the State Assembly. The Budget Session is all set to begin from March 11.
