BJP workers indulging in hooliganism, block Cong campaign: PCC

PNS

On the directions of the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership, its party workers are indulging in hooliganism during the State-wide loktantra Bachao campaign of the Congress in order to disrupt the law and order situation in Uttarakhand. The Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Kishore Upadhyay leveled this allegation at the BJP on Monday.

In a statement issued by the PCC chief spokesman Mathuradatt Joshi, Upadhyay states, “Section 144 is being imposed wherever our programmes are being organised. India is a democracy where all have the right to present their position through non violent protest. The imposition of president’s rule in Uttarakhand orchestrated by the BJP is unconstitutional and reminds one of the British colonial era. The Congress party will undertake a public movement if section 144 is not withdrawn from the whole State. The BJP is acting autocratically as evident in the enforcement of section 144 at the venue of our programmes and stone pelting on the former CM’s motorcade by BJP workers. Having orchestrated imposition of president’s rule in Uttarakhand the BJP is now trying to spoil the law and order situation in the State.

However, the State-wide loktantra Bachao campaign will continue to raise public awareness with party workers slated to visit people across the state to expose the conspiracy of the BJP,” said the PCC chief.
