The BJP has termed the Congress protest on slum issues to be ‘anti-poor’. The party State media-in-charge Devendra Bhasin said that while the Chief Minister and BJP leaders are busy visiting areas to check the damage and risk due to heavy rains, the Congress leaders are busy burning effigies.
The heavy rains have turned the situation serious with the CM and BJP members checking various areas to ascertain the situation. However, in such circumstances, the Congress leaders are opposing the ordinance brought out by the Government are obstructing government work by burning effigies at various places. The ordinance brought out by the BJP will benefit up to 50,000 people where as the Act being referred to by Congress would have benefitted a much smaller number of people.
