Chief Minister Harish Rawat used his political wisdom to persuade the agitating BJP legislators to attend the proceedings of second day of Assembly Session on Tuesday.

On the issue of negligence in developmental works in their Assembly constituencies, many BJP legislators sat on a dharna near the State Assembly hall.

Raising slogans and holding placards against the State Government, Didihat MlA Bishan Singh Chufal accompanied by BJP legislators Sanjay Gupta, Mal Chand, Surendra Singh Jeena, Rajkumar Thakral Vijay Barthwal, Pushkar Singh Dhami and others sat on an impromptu Dharna.

Chufal said that the works like Didihat drinking water project, construction of GGIC, and taxi stand construction are pending for long in the absence of funds from Government. The Chief Minister met the agitating legislators in his chamber and listened to their grievances.

He categorically assured the BJP MlAs that he would personally review the pace of developmental activities in their constituencies by December 15. Following the CM’s assurance, the BJP leaders agreed to attend the Assembly proceedings.

Interestingly in the meeting with CM, some BJP legislators tried to raise the issue that they are not given proper attention by the district administration but Ajay Bhatt instructed them to restrict them to only developmental issues.

During question hour in the House, the CM intervened in many instances and rescued his Cabinet Ministers from the Opposition’s onslaught.
