BJP is unable to 'digest' work done by us: Cong

The Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee has alleged that the BJP had undertaken a State-wide protest against the State Government and was making baseless allegations in order to divert public focus away from the failures of the BJP-led Central Government. The Chief Minister’s media in-charge Surendra Kumar Agarwal lambasted the BJP stating that the opposition was unable to ‘digest’ the developmental works being executed in the State.

“The BJP is nervous considering the execution of developmental works in the State under Chief Minister Harish Rawat. The CM has just completed a year in office and the decisions he has taken during this period are making the BJP feel insecure. The State Government has taken various important decisions and initiated various schemes in the interest of the State and its residents across various segments. The BJP should focus its efforts at the Central Government so that more proposals can be approved for Uttarakhand in the Rail budget,” he said.

The Rajya Nirman Andolankari Samman Parishad vice chairman Dhirendra Pratap termed the BJP’s State-wide protest as a major flop. Commenting on the BJP protest Pratap said the the BJP was losing its ground after the lok Sabha polls victory and that was the reason they were forced to organise such customary shows for gaining cheap publicity.

The Harish Rawat was meeting the expectations of the public in Uttarakhand. The election results of Assembly bye election, Panchayat polls, Cooperatives and Cantonment Board elections were ample proof that people were generally happy and satisfied with the Congress-led State Government, added Pratap.

The UPCC chief coordinator Jot Singh Bisht said that the result of decisions taken by Harish Rawat in the past year for integrated development of Uttarakhand would be visible in two years. The CM has announced schemes like Hamara Pedh Hamara Dhan scheme, Mera Gaon Meri Sadak scheme, Mere Buzurg Mere Teerth, winter Char Dham Yatra, empowering Panchayats for construction of hydro power projects with upto two megawatts capacity and pensions for farmers aged above 60 years among other decisions that were aimed at facilitating the desired level of development in the State.

“The results of various elections in Uttarakhand after the lok Sabha polls show that the Congress is delivering in the State. The BJP is trying to misguide the public but will not succeed in this. The statements made by some BJP MlAs also prove that Rawat’s one year tenure as the CM has been completely satisfactory,” said the UPCC chief coordinator.
