BJP demands suspension of Chief Secy

A day after Harish Rawat "hurriedly" took charge as CM and convened two Cabinet meetings to take policy decisions even before a written order of the Uttarakhand High Court quashing President's Rule in the State could reach the Centre and the Governor, the BJP on Saturday demanded suspension of the Chief Secretary for acting on the order of the ex-Chief Minister whose reinstatement was not cleared.

"The demand for the scalp of the CS for breaking norms at the behest of the former CM is justified. This tells a sad story of Uttarakhand having a committed bureaucracy ready to crawl when asked to bend," said a senior State BJP leader.
