Infuriated over the callous approach of the State Government for not redressing the grievances of the disaster hit victims, BJP State President Tirath Singh Rawat said that the party activists will burn the effigy of the State Government over the alleged role of Cabinet Minister Dr Harak Singh Rawat’s former PRO in the medical entrance case.

He demanded from the State Government to order high level probe into the Yudhveer Singh Rawat’s murder case that has rocked the capital city for the last three days. While addressing the mediapersons in a press conference held at state party office in Dehradun on Tuesday, Rawat said that the involvement of the Cabinet Minister into the murder mystery can not be ruled out.

“It is a matter of grim concern that the kingpin behind the YS Rawat murder, who has been identified as Sudha Patwal, has accepted that she was arrested from the residence of the cabinet minister,” he lamented, adding that the State Government should immediately terminate Cabinet Minister Rawat over his suspicious involvement in the murder case.

While expressing his views, Ajay Bhatt, leader of Opposition in Vidhan Sabha, said that the party activists will burn the effigy of the State Government over this issue and will continue protest unless and until Rawat get suspended. Bhatt said that memorandum was already submitted to State Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna demanding immediate suspension of the Cabinet Minister Rawat.

According to him, apart from the natural disaster issue that wrecked havoc in the entire state and the insensitive approach of the Congress led State Government as no concrete steps were taken by the State Government for redressing the grievances of the disaster hit victims of the State, the party activists will also raise this issue in the upcoming Vidhan Sabha session, which is scheduled to take place on September, 18. Bhatt said that party leaders will also take up this issue to the Uttarakhand Governor Dr Aziz Qureshi and demand immediate suspension of the Cabinet Minister Rawat and will continue protest on this issue in the coming days also.
