A delegation of BJP members led by State General Secretary Naresh Bansal met State DGP MA Ganapathy at police headquarters on Tuesday and demanded stringent action against the Congress activists who had allegedly disrupted a development review meeting the State BJP chief Ajay Bhatt was having with the district officers at his constituency at Ranikhet on Monday.

The BJP leaders accused the administration of non-professional and partisan attitude that resulted in the meeting being disrupted. The cops present there had chosen to be mute spectators when the Congress activists were creating a rumpus to disrupt  the meeting, they alleged.

later, the BJP leaders submitted a memorandum to State DGP, requesting senior cops to take appropriate action against the Congress activists who were responsible for the disruption of the meeting.

“We regret to say that the administration did not play its role in restraining the mob that looked hell-bent on disrupting the important meeting. Police seemed ready to do the mob’s bidding we hope, things would not recur,” said Bhatt.

Others present on the occasion were Jyoti Prasad Gairola, Khajan Das, Vinay Goyal, Virendra Singh Bisht and others.
