BJP cadre urged to increase membership

BJP leader Satpal Maharaj has exhorted the party cadres to work towards increasing the membership of the party. He said this while reviewing the party’s membership campaign at the party office in New Tehri. Addressing party workers, he said they worked not for some brigade but for the party. lambasting the Congress-led State Government, he said that the State Government was busy with mining and liquor licences while execution of developmental works in the State was being hampered.

He further averred that while he was in the Congress, that party had avoided making him a Minister considering him to be a Hindu preacher. “I cannot change my religion but can surely move to another party. I had supported previous Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna on the basis of making Gairsain the summer capital but the Congress Government now was working on the pattern of the colonial rulers,” he said.

Maharaj accused the State Government of misleading the public by stating that Uttarakhand was not receiving Central assistance whereas in reality, the State was busy with mining and Fl-II licences due to which it was not finding time to effectively seek the required assistance from the Centre. Narendranagar BJP membership campaign head Bhaskar Gairola said that the maximum possible number of youth will be contacted through the membership campaign.
