BEd-TET qualified protesters to hold Budhi Shudhi Yagya

PNS

The agitating members of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) / Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) qualified unemployed Federation are organising a three-day Budhi Shudhi Yagya at the State education directorate.

The federation is demanding that the recruitment process in the primary teacher cadre of the State Government should be completed without delay. The members of the federation started the three day Yagya on Wednesday.

The General Secretary of federation Amit Kashyap told The Pioneer that their patience is fast waning as hiccups in the recruitment process of primary teachers are continuing. He alleged that the State Government ineptly handled their issue before the Uttarakhand High Court.

The HC had recently quashed the recruitment advertisement of 1891 primary teacher on the ground that the process of recruitment is not as per the guidelines laid down in the Uttarakhand Primary Teacher Service Rules 2012- amended 2013.

Kashyap claimed that the above mentioned section is for Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) and BTC qualified candidates and not for the B.Ed / TET qualified candidates.

The B.Ed / TET federation is on a path of agitation since January 5 this year on its single point demand that the State Government should immediately fill the large number of posts of primary teachers in the Government schools. The agitation of the Federation has yielded result also as the Education Department initiated recruitment process for 1891 posts of primary teachers.

The department later added 96, 800 and 389 more posts under backlog quota in this recruitment drive before the HC put spanner in the process. It is worth mentioning here that the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) has clearly directed that the posts of the primary teachers should be filled only by the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) qualified youths. It means that for thousands of B.Ed/ TET qualified unemployed youths this is the last chance to get the Government job.
