Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna, who was running upset with the media reports about prevailing change of guard in the State and keeping away from media for the last two days, has broken his silence and categorically said “all is well”.
By saying this, CM Bahuguna has tried his best to end the ongoing gossip, but the People democratic Front (PDF), which is an alliance of BSP, UKD and independent MlAs, has created commotion by saying that they have given their support to the Congress. With this statement Uttarakhand political gossip continued on Wednesday.
It has increased because Harish Rawat's supporter sent a SMS to media circles that Rawat would address media at his office situated in Majra, Dehradun, on Wednesday 3 pm, but he did not reach till 7 pm. In another development, Harak Singh Rawat left for Delhi by State charter plane on Tuesday late evening.
These two developments made political situation hot despite bone chilling weather in the State. On Wednesday afternoon, PDF president Mantri Prasad Naithani's statement has again forced media persons, who had kept switch off their camera after cm comment that all is well, had to put their camera on roll again.
later, CM attended a meeting of disaster management department at his office and left secretariat without making any comment on the recent development after comment of PDF leaders. On condition of anonymity, an official said that reason may be anything either correct or wrong, but it is not good for the State; so party high command should make the picture clear as soon as possible, otherwise work will suffer because Uttarakhand officials are good in making rapport; so they are busy in anticipation about who will be the next CM.
Sources said that four names i.e. Union Cabinet Minister Harish Rawat, State Cabinet minister Indira Hridayesh, Surendra Singh Negi and Harak Singh Rawat, are running in the power corridor.
