Bahuguna firefights in bid to cut red tape

PNS

In a bid to curtail the time of file movement between divisions and the State Government, Vijay Bahuguna Government has decided to create two more commissionerates and police division in the State. This was ascertained by State Revenue Minister Yashpal Arya while talking to media persons in secretariat on Wednesday.

With the decision, the State would have four commissionerates, four police divisions and 13 districts. This exercise is being seen as fight fighting exercise of the Vijay Bahuguna Government. Earlier, two ranges were created in Nainital, Pithoragarh in Kumaon division and Dehradun and Pauri in Garhwal division. After few months of operation, the Government had withdrawn the decision by saying that it has created confusion while dealing in day to day work.

Talking to The Pioneer, Arya said that Chief Minister and Cabinet ministers had mind boggling session to carve out new police ranges and commissionarates in the State.  It would be pertinent to mention here that for the last few week Vijay Bahuguna Government is under pressure so they started fire fighting exercise. During this Kumaon MlA strongly opposed the government prior decision especially withdrawal of newly carved police range.  Besides it they also said that they have to travel long to reach their commissioner’s office either in Pauri or Nainital so state government has decided to carve two new division one each in Garhwal and Kumaon division.

Talking to The Pioneer MlA harish Dhami said that when government decided to withdraw the newly carved police range then he had protest and now he would welcome the decision. Although he categorically said that state IPS should be appointed as head of newly carved range and commissioner office.
