The 18th annual prize giving ceremony was held at the Asian School here on Friday. A total of 538 students received the awards with 143 students receiving the coveted Governor’s Award, 213 receiving Principal’s Award and 135 students receiving the Teacher’s Award.
The Rashtriya Indian Military College commandant colonel Vivek Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Sharma commended the students and the school. He also appreciated the focus on both academics and co-curricular activities.
A short series of dance and musical performance by the students was appreciated by the gathering on the occasion.
Earlier, the principal AK Das read out the annual academic report for the year 2018 – 19 highlighting the importance of parent teacher association in building the child’s confidence and making him/her effective self learner. He also advised the parents to expose the children to rich culture and tradition of the nation and consider this as an evolved family exercise. The function was attended by the school vice president Madanjeet Singh, vice principal Gagan Jyot Juneja and others.
