In protest against the attack on Yashpal Arya and his son Sanjeev Arya in Bajpur on Friday, the Uttarakhand Congress will hold a Dharna at Chief Minister’s residence on Sunday.
The party has claimed that the attack on the father son duo who had recently left the BJP and joined the Congress was done at the behest of the BJP.
In-charge of the Uttarakhand Congress and the member of Congress Working Committee (CWC) Devendra Yadav said the attack on Yashpal Arya and his son shows the real character of the BJP.
He said the Congress party strongly condemns the attack and demands that an independent enquiry should be done to nab the culprits.
Yadav said the BJP, which takes support of politics of polarisation is now frightened by the prospects of a defeat.
He added politics of crowd and anarchy are associated with the BJP.
The Congress in-charge said Sanjeev Arya informed him that 20 goons who were BJP supporters attacked them with sticks in presence of police. Arya also claimed that the attack was an attempt to murder him and his father.
To register it’s strong protest on the attack, the Uttarakhand Congress has decided to hold a Dharna outside the residence of CM Dhami on Sunday.
The protest would be attended by party in charge Devendra Yadav, former Chief Minister and head of the campaign committee of the Congress party Harish Rawat, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in State Assembly Pritam Singh and other leaders.
