Veteran leader of Bhartiya Janta Party and former Deputy Prime Minister lK Advani reached the holy city along with his family members on Sundaymorning.
His son Jayant Advani immersed the ashes of his mother amidst Vedic rituals at Har-ki-Pauri. Along with the family members were also present Sidharthnagar BJP MP Jagadambika Pal and others.
Advani’s wife Kamla Advani, 83, had died on Wednesday following a cardiac arrest and the last rites were performed at Nigam Bodh ghat in Delhi.
As per the Hindu Vedic rituals, her ashes were immersed in Ganga at Har-ki-Pauri by her son Jayant Advani under the guidance of the priest, Neeraj of Purohit Samaj.
The officials of the Kumbh Mela and the district administration had taken care of the security arrangements.
