Upping the ante against the Chief Minister Harish Rawat, the sacked Jwalpaur Mandi Samiti chairperson Sanjay Chopra who has recently joined BJP following the induction of his mentors Vijay Bahuguna and Harak Singh Rawat into the saffron party said on Tuesday that another CBI probe should be launched against the CM on the Ardh Kumbh Mela scams involving toilet construction.
“The demand would gain momentum in the coming days. The grafts that happened involving a momentous religious congregation should be exposed,” Chopra said. He further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed Saharanpur rally on May 26 to mark the second anniversary of his government would have its base at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar.
Chopra alleged during a press conference that the people of Haridwar has seen through Harish Rawat. “Things have come to such a pass that even if he swears touching Mother Ganga that the sting CD probe is meant to sully his image the people would not believe him.
For they know that he can go to any length to stick to power and make money. lakhs of rupees were spent in making temporary toilets during Ardh Kumbh mela which should have been made on permanent basis as per the need of the city, he said, adding that things should be probed thoroughly and responsibility fixed.
