Congress party workers staged protest against BJP MP from Haridwar and former Chief Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank on making false promises on Ardh Kumbh Mela budget sanction from the Centre. Twenty days before they had launched Saansad Jagao Yatra to awaken the Parliamentarian towards Ardh Kumbh Mela funds release.
led by district president of Mahanagar Congress Committee, Anshul Shrikunj, several other party workers gathered at Arya Nagar Chownk on Tuesday to protest against former CM Nishank.
Talking to The Pioneer, party leader Anshul Shrikunj siad, "On his last visit to the holy city, BJP leader NIshank said that he had met the finance minister on the issue of release of funds for the ongoing Ardh Kumbh Mela works and within a week the funds would reach. He is representative of public and must not make such false assurances."
He further alleged that Nishank must not make such commitments to retain his position which he cannot accomplish.
Deepak Jakhmola, Sunit Tiwari, Bharat Taneja and Anju Dwivedi were amongst the several others who staged the protest.
