PNS

Bail hearing of Congress leader Anupam Sharma accused in a case which saw him involved in a conspiracy of alleged loot from property dealer Anurodh

Panwar by three policemen under the pretext of checks and seizure for the enforcement of model code of conduct on the night of April 4, will now be held on May 7.

The case is under investigation by Special Task Force (STF) and all four accused are in district jail Suddhowala under judicial custody.

It is pertinent to mention here that departmental inquiry against all three suspended policemen including sub-inspector Dinesh Negi, constable Himanshu

Upadhyay and Manoj Adhikari is also underway on their alleged misuse of the power of a government employee and misusing government vehicle.

It is also worth mentioning that the high profile case, in which the official SUV of Garhwal Inspector General Ajay Rautela was also used, was handed over to STF on April 12. On the basis of technical evidence STF arrested all four accused on the night of April 16. On April 25 and 26 STF interrogated all four accused and cross questioned an employee of accused Anupam Sharma. STF has maintained that the interrogation has been constructive although the key point of the entire investigation, the bag in question is still a mystery.

If sources are to be believed, there is possibility of this case being closed in the near future because the police have not been successful in either tracing or recovering the bag.

According to the same source, the bag could have been recovered if actions were taken sooner.

However, the incident happened on the night of April 4 and the FIR was lodged on April 9, during which the trail of the bag transacted that night went cold.
