A 35-year old Shivani who was mentally ill and staying in Nari Niketan, Dehradun was declared brought dead in Doon Hospital on Thursday night. Dehradun SP City Ajay Singh said that her body was sent for post-mortem and its report revealed that she was having several diseases and died on Thursday evening due to multiple organ failures.
Meena Arya, a sub-inspector of Nehru Colony said that her body was sent for postmortem on Friday morning. Earlier she was suffering from stomach ache and was admitted in the Doon Hospital on December 17. However, she was discharged December 23 from the Doon Hospital. She was living in Nari Niketan since 2007. She was brought through 108 ambulance in Doon Hospital on Thursday evening wherein doctor declared her brought dead. Police sources said that she was being treated in state mental health institute, Selaqui.
It should be mentioned that Nari Niketan was recently in focus, wherein a case of alleged rape/ abortion of a speech and hearing impaired inmate was reported. SIT formed to crack this case had arrested around eight persons.
