A day ahead of the noted singer Kailash Kher’s programme in Kedar Valley, BJP leader Ajyendra Ajay has shot off a letter to the Governor, asking the latter to intervene and stop such extravaganza when the State is still reeling under the impact of the deluge that wreaked havoc in 2013.

A large number of people having perished in the deluge, many are still bereft of livelihood, he mentioned in the letter, adding that two dozen bridges were washed away. Despite three and half years having passed since the cataclysm struck the State, the  State Government is yet to resume normal life in the worst hit Kedar valley, the  BJP leader said.

Things are terrible with the priests and others-destitute in  Kedarnath- still awaiting  compensation, BJP leader said. He  further mentioned that 22 accidents have taken place over the past three years while the people crossed valley on trolley. Roads eluding many villages, the children are trudging a long way to reach schools, Ajay said.

The BJP leader alleged in the letter that things remaining awful in many parts of the State, the Chief Minister has unleashed a cheap publicity drama to make the people feel that  things are all well. This is the reason why the State Government has taken initiative to bring Kher for a musical programme in the Kedar Valley.

He said that the State Government had earlier given  Kher Rs12 crore for the documentary made on Kedarnath

He further said that while the number of the pilgrims is steadily going down, the CM is indulging in a mischievous propaganda, goading the people to believe that the figure is rising by leaps and bounds.

He also said in the letter that the condition of the old roads involving Panch Kedar are  pretty bad while  the State Government is squandering  away money in the  name of trekking campaign.

He asked the  Governor to intervene regarding the scheduled musical programme, considering these aspects.
