PNS

A delegation of Aided School teachers belonging to 168 schools of the State called on Uttarakhand Governor KK Paul at Raj Bhavan on Monday and requested him to intervene on the issue of non-payment of salaries to them. A delegation under the banner of Ashashakiya Vidhyalaya Sangathan (AVS) apprised the Governor that the State Government had notified 168 schools under aided category in the year 2013 and issued a Government Order (GO) for it but it had not released funds for their salaries yet.

To make things worse for these teachers the management of these schools had stopped paying salaries to these teachers, they complained The Governor assured the delegation that he would look in the matter. The president of AVS, Trilok Bhandari said that these 168 schools were different from the private schools as they were set up with the aim of spreading education in remote areas. He said that teachers serving in these schools were working for last many years but the apathetic attitude of State Government had sent them into brink of starvation. Bhadari threatened that AVS would be forced to intensify the agitation if the Government failed to release money for the salaries of these teachers.
