The Nainital district administration has asked the officials concerned to remove illegal construction from Nainital and Bhowali cities soon. The administration has acted on a HC direction given on the matter. Notices have already been served to the encroachers. According to the district officials, as many as 89 illegal constructions have been identified in the lake city Nainital alone.
Out of these, cases related to 24 such constructions are pending in the court, Regarding the rest, the landlords have not taken steps to remove them despite being served notices, the officials added. Deepak Rawat, District Magistrate, Nainital, while reviewing the matter concerning illegal construction on Monday, asked the officials to remove 65 illegal constructions in the lake city soon and impose Rsone lakh on the encroachers.
