PNS

DIG, Garhwal Range Pushpak Jyoti said that additional police forces would be deployed along the Char Dham Yatra routes to ensure smooth conduct of the pilgrimage with the expectation of   lakhs of people reaching Uttarakhand in the coming days to take part in it.

Notably, the char dham yatra will begin from April 28 as the pilgrimage for   Yamnotri will start that day while the yatra  for Gangotri would  start on  May 3 and the same for Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines are set to start   on May 6. DIG asked the police officers concerned to take steps to ensure that no accident occurs along the pilgrimage routes.

Pilgrims should be sent yatra-related messages in bulk, he said, adding that the pilgrims should be motivated to use Mobile App for their own convenience. Temple staffs should have all the information at their disposal like the locations of dharamshalas, temples, hotels and hospitals aside from the details of the pilgrimage routes and the mobile numbers of the local police station officers to help the pilgrims if they ask for the same. Jyoti also laid thrust on appropriate crowd management along the routes to the shrines and also at the shrines.
