MANOJ KUMAR

Principal Secretary, Education, S Raju who recently assumed charge in the Education department said that his priority would be to ensure that teachers are available in their respective schools.

Departmental action will be taken against those teachers who were transferred under Uttarakhand Teachers' Transfer Policy 2013, but have failed to join their new posts.

Raju said that he has drafted a plan and after Diwali, the education officers will be directed to conduct inspections in government schools and ensure effective execution of projects under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA).

He expressed hope that the department would manage to achieve the desired goal shortly.

According to him, the level of education will improve if teachers reach their schools regularly on time.

He said that apart from education officers the administrative officers including sub divisional magistrates and tehsildars will inspect schools in their respective jurisdiction.

As per plan, SDMs will inspect at least five schools each while tehsildars will inspect 10 schools each.

The chief district education officers and district education officers will inspect at 10 schools each per month while block education officers will inspect all the inter colleges of their jurisdiction.

Block Resource Coordinators and Cluster Resource Coordinators will also inspect all the schools in their jurisdiction.

Education officers including joint directors and deputy directors will also be deployed for conducting inspections in schools.

They will inspect academic, administrative and infrastructure aspects including availability of teachers, school buildings, drinking water facilities, toilets, students attendance, midday meal scheme, students' enrolment and others in the schools.

These officers will also evaluate the performance of the teachers and principals who were earlier provided training on capacity building by the department.

The principal secretary further said that the administrative and education officers will be directed to submit their inspection reports to the office of school education director general by the 26th day of each month so that further action can be taken for ensuring availability of teachers and effective execution of the schemes in Government schools.
