Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad (ABAP) met chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat regarding the Kumbh Mela 2021. Rawat assured them that a full time Mela officer will be appointed soon. He said that he had recently spoken to the Prime Ministe Narendra Modi and Union Transport minister Nitin Gadkari regarding the Kumbh Mela.
Construction of ring road, extension of Mela area and Ghats along the Ganga will be done in due course of time. ABAP national secretary Hari Giri said the district administration and state government must extend Kumbh Mela area after taking the consent of religious fraternity.
Their approval must also be sought before allotting land for the Kumbh Mela. He also demanded that they should be given funds by the State Government for making Ashrams as part of permanent construction works of Kumbh Mela.
