He said that mainly the Anganwari workers and the teachers appointed as BlOs are being found staying away from the election duty. He also directed the district project officers, child development officers and district education officers to stop releasing salary to the errant BlOs by way of punitive action.

He stressed that their salary would be released only after the election officers concerned give the clearance.  DM Raman meted out the warning while presiding over a meeting with the campus ambassadors, civil defence wardens and inter-college principals at the collectorate on Thursday.

DM made it clear that forms from the number 6-8 have been sent to the BlOs, ration card dealers and tehsil officials to be provided to the eligible voters. Besides, the BlOs have been directed to read the voter’s list at public places between October 7 and October 14.

The errors would be corrected between October 16 and October 23. The final voter’s list will be published on January 10, 2017, Raman said while adding that the BlOs have been directed to reach every voter, no matter whether he lives in the remote area.
