Jharkhand Vikash Morcha (P) supremo Babulal Marandi has sold tickets for the lok Sabha polls, alleged Trinamool Congress’ (TMC) candidate Ashutosh Verma here on Wednesday.
“Earlier I was in JVM (P),” said Verma. “On March 4 Babulal asked for Rs 3 crore for declaring me as a JVM candidate for Giridih lS constituency, but I expressed my inability to do so. Finally Babulal denied ticket to me and gave it to Saba Ahmad on the initiative of Ravindra Panday,” he alleged. “I have joined politics with an aim to serve people only, but fine the deep rooted corruption rotten the entire political system,” he said.
“I do not want ticket instead of money and joined TMC and now contesting to eliminate corruption first”, Verma added. Talking with the newsmen at Chandrapura, Verma also hit out at CM Hemant Soren and alleged that he was giving tickets to the tainted leaders facing criminal charges.
Verma said, JMM candidate Jagarnath Mahato is facing criminal charges, after the FIR Mahato should be arrested but administration is favouring him. “Within next two months Mahato would be arrested and sent to Tihar Jail,” Verma said. Verma is a millionaire and llB Graduate, practicing at Supreme Court of India and in london. He is in poll fray from Giridih lok Sabha constituency.
Elimination of corruption, Irrigation solutions that help increase agricultural productivity (by cultivating four crops) and generation of new employment opportunities along with industrialization would be my first priority under the holistic development of the constituency, Verma said.
The problem of farmers can be gauged from the fact that only 12 percent farmers irrigate their land through canals and other irrigation methods against the national average of 40 percent and Jharkhand produces only half of the food grains of its total consumption, he said.
Providing Irrigation solution agricultural productivity can be increased easily by four times”, Verma said. Amidst rich in minerals people of the constituency are poor. People residing in the remote part are living in the dearth of several basic amenities.
Drinking water, health, electricity, road connectivity, education, employment including others is the major issues found across the constituency and elimination would be my priority, Verma said.
