Two trainee BTechs in BHEl of Haridwar were drowned to death on Sunday in upper Ganga canal while bathing. Both the students hailed from Haryana and were living in Haridwar for the past lthree months.
According to the police, 22 year old Anil from district Dadri, Haryana and Ravi of same age. resident of district Bhiwani Haryana were bathing at Govindpuri Ghat of upper Ganga canal on Sunday morning. Suddenly Anil got slipped and was swept away in the strong river current. Ravi jumped into Ganga to save his friend but he could not save him. Both went missing and the police has lau hed search operation.
Speaking to the Pioneer. SHO Jwalapur Amarjeet Singh said, Our team of divers reached the spot after getting information by te colony residents. We have informed their parents and search operation is on.Water level of the canal is high and not clear because of rains in uphill areas our divers are facing problems to search their bodies."
