A 13-year-old boy from Bihar was rescued by the officials from Labour Department, Childline Helpline and a
voluntary group on Friday. As per the information provided by officials, the boy was working in the New Deluxe Sweet Shop situated near Bengali Kothi. After a complaint was filed in the Childline helpline the officials inspected the shop and the boy was rescued.
Adding further in this an official said, “We rescued the child after taking cognisance of a complaint which was filled in the Childline helpline. The boy is native of Bihar and was living with his uncle here in the city who has been contacted. Further action will be taken by Child Welfare Committee (CWC). We have also filed a complaint in Nehru Colony Police Station against the owner of the shop for making a minor work in a hazardous place.”
