In a tragic incident a pedestrian walking along the Shimla Bypass at Patelnagar in Dehradun was knocked down by two-wheeler on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Vasudev, a resident of Ratanpur, Patelnagar.
He was a driver working for the district jail. Two persons sitting on the two-wheeler identified as Shibham and Gaurav, both residents of Patelnagar, were also injured in the accident.
The injured trio was brought by police at Mahant Indresh Hospital where the doctor declared Vasudev brought dead.
The other two are undergoing treatment in the same hospital. The body has been sent for post-mortem, said a Patelnagar police station officer, adding that a case would soon be registered.
In another incident, one person was injured when the bike he was riding was hit by a truck at Miyawala Chowk on Friday. The injured was identified as Jagdish, a resident of Mohkampur Majri Mafi. While the injured was admitted at Doon Hospital the truck driver escaped.
