Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Monday said that in the recent recruitment to Group-D posts in the state, youth having higher education such as B.A., M.A. and B.Tech have got selected.

The Haryana Government has decided that the youth should get further growth in their career on the basis of their academic qualification and for this, they would not have to obtain No Objection Certificate from the government, said the Chief Minister while speaking at the concluding ceremony of two-day mega job fair organised at Pt. Chiranji Lal Government Postgraduate College, Karnal.

He congratulated the 2300 youth who have been selected by various multinational companies present in the fair.

He said that it is a matter of great pride that of the selected candidates, 690 candidates are from Karnal. On this occasion, the Chief Minister handed over the appointment letters to four boys and girls.

Manohar Lal said that few years ago, it was a challenge to provide employment to unemployed youth. The present State Government accepted this challenge and made concerted efforts to provide employment to youth. As a result of these efforts, government jobs were given to 55,000 youth in last four-and-a-half years, he said.

Apart from this, 1.5 lakh youth was got placed in private companies. The two-day mega job fair is also a part of these concerted efforts, he said.

The Chief Minister further said that in next eight months, 12 more such fairs would be organised across the state and there is a target to connect to about 30,000 educated youth.

The number of government jobs is limited and jobs cannot be provided to everyone. In order to meet this demand, the present State Government promoted skill development. For this, Shri Vishwakarma Skill University was established at Palwal, he said.

The university started functioning on November 1 last and initially, four courses have been started. Every year 12,000 students would get enrolled in the university and about 800 courses of skill development would be taken, the Chief Minister said.

Similarly, the second scope was to promote industries for generating large scale job opportunities. Today, Haryana is the most preferred state for setting up industry and it is the first priority of investors, he added.

Manohar Lal also said that investor summit was organised in the state in which 350 entrepreneurs had participated of which, MoUs of 145 have been matured and remaining are in pipeline. The state was at 14thposition in terms of Ease of Doing Business in 2014 then it reached to 6th position in 2016 and in 2018, it has reached at 3rd position.
