Protesting against the Central Government for throttling freedom of speech and expression by banning songs ‘SYL’ and ‘Rihai’ of slain Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and Kanwar Grewal respectively, Youth Akali Dal (YAD) workers on Friday held tractor marches as well as submitting memorandums to the Deputy Commissioners at all district headquarters. YAD president Parambans Singh Romana said that youth workers held tractor marches relaying both songs through speakers to express solidarity with the singers across the State and demand revocation of the ban on both songs. He said that at some places due to heavy rain, only memorandums were submitted to the Deputy Commissioners.
