Bahadurgarh police have arrested a woman for allegedly killing her husband in their house at Dayanand Colony in Bahadurgarh town, about 45 km from here, three days ago.

The accused woman Asha had hatched the conspiracy with her lover Umesh to kill her husband Rohit. The police on Friday produced the accused before a local court which sent her to judicial custody for 14 days. The murder case was cracked when the police grilled Asha intensively after sensing something fishy in the case. During interrogation, she could not conceal her crime for long and disclosed that her husband did not die of electrocution and was strangled to death by her along with Umesh with whom she had illicit relation, said the police.

Earlier, the police had registered a case under Section 174 of CrPc on the statement of Asha wherein she stated that her husband died of electrocution when he was doing some work in the house on Tuesday night. “We had started working on murder angle after going through the postmortem report of Umesh which ascertained the strangulation as the cause of death. Then, Asha was interrogated from various angles to uncover the facts behind the murder. Initially, she tried to mislead us but after sometime, she confessed to her crime,” said the police.

A case of murder has now been registered against Asha and her lover Umesh in this regard. Raids were also being carried out at possible hideouts of Umesh who was absconding since after the crime, said the police.
