Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa on Tuesday made it clear that he would be more than happy if the party high command appointed senior leader and MlA lal Singh as “acting president” during election time. But, at the same time, he said that it was up to the party high command to decide.
“I would be more than happy is he become the acting president. He is the senior-most leader present in the party… he more experienced and competent… But I know why his name is being floated and for what reasons…the party is looking after everyone’s concerns,” he said. His bête noire and former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder has suggested sitting MlA and veteran leader lal Singh to be appointed acting president recently at Patiala.
