Wife of a constable tried to commit suicide on Saturday by hanging but timely intervention saved her and his undergoing treatment at local hospital in Jagdalpur. She was agitated over the action taken on her husband by police department.
As per reports coming in, the constable Vinod Yadav had been transferred by department after suspicion of his family members’ participation in the agitation. On Friday, he was transferred and notice was issued for evacuating the government residence based at Adawal. It is after that his wife tried to commit suicide as she was in tension over the quick developments.
As per police, she had gone to residence of Yadav’s younger brother based at police lines. It is where she had tried to commit the suicide. It is informed that around 17 police personnel were transferred after the protest.
The allegation was that their family members had participated in the protest.
It is to mention here that police department has taken a stern stand against the agitation of the police personnel family members and state-wide disciplinary action is being taken including termination of service.
