Congress candidate from Amritsar Capt Amarinder Singh on Wednesday questioned SAD-BJP candidate Arun Jaitley as to why he liked to hide behind shadows by shutting down his website.
“Recently Jaitley closed down his website - arunjaitely.com...What is the reason for him to shut it down and that too at a time when people would like to know about him and would like to access his website more than ever for information about him,” said Capt Amarinder.
He added, “Or is it that there were so many things which Jaitley had put up there earlier and would have been finding it difficult to defend now when he is contesting an election and finds himself answerable to peopleIJ”
Jaitley is non-Sikh: Daljit
Accusing SAD of working against former BJP MP from Amritsar Navjot Singh Sidhu, Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday said that if Akalis did not support a Punjabi, how could they be expected to support Arun Jaitley, who is a non-Sikh and not from the city.
“If Akalis can cut the roots of their own Punjabi, Navjot Singh Sidhu of BJP, who is Arun Jaitely to them…a non-Sikh and not even a resident of AmritsarIJ” said AAP’s candidate from the seat Dr Daljit Singh during his rallies and road shows.
“Navjot brought many innovative schemes for Amritsar, but Akalis, especially Bikramjit Singh Majithia, worked against him…Even in the previous lok Sabha elections, it was only by strict orders of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal that Majithia was reined in and Sidhu won by a thin margin of over 6,000 votes from Amritsar constituency against sitting Congress MlA Om Parkash Soni,” he claimed.
“What is in buying a house in AmritsarIJ Even Sidhu bought a house in Amritsar just like Jaitley. But did he stay in AmritsarIJ Jaitley will come to Amritsar, but only for holidays...And perchance if he tries to work for Amritsar, his wings will be clipped just as that of Sidhu,” Dr Daljit said.
Ramdev supports Jaitley
Yoga Guru Baba Ram Dev arrived Amritsar on Wednesday to extend support to SAD-BJP candidate for Amritsar lok Sabha constituency Arun Jaitley. Both Jaitley and Baba Ram Dev also jointly posed before the media for photo session.
“I am on India tour, asking the people to vote for BJP to bring Narendra Modi in the Centre...There is Modi wave in the country, as this time voters are expecting change...The main issues like black money in foreign banks, corruption and inflation are prevailing,” said Yog guru while talking with the media. He said that if people wanted to bring Modi at the Centre, for this, everybody has to vote in favour of BJP candidates.
Talking about Jaitley, he said that he was intellectual, honest and foresighted and such persons should be with Modi who could be the future Prime Minister. To bring overall development of Amritsar city, he said that inhabitants have golden opportunity to send Jaitley in lok Sabha so that he could do something for people and city.
Capt ditched Sikh Panth to please Sonia, Rahul: Jaitley
Majitha: SAD-BJP candidate from Amritsar lok Sabha constituency Arun Jaitley on Wednesday made a frontal attack on Capt Amarinder Singh for ditching Sikh community with a singular aim of pleasing residents of 10 Janpath on critical issue of carnage of thousands of Sikhs in 1984 by Congress mob led by Jagdish Tytler and others.
Jaitley said that he was pained that Capt Amarinder, just for petty political gains to please his mentors in Delhi, has gone to the extent of playing with the feelings of families of thousands of victims, who had been denied justice for last 30 years due to mechanisations of Congress party.
“Capt Amarinder’s role in this whole episode exposes his dual character, who has given priority to bow wishes of Sonia and Rahul rather than to ensure justice to the families,” he added.
