Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh’s son and State Youth Congress president Vikramaditya Singh on Tuesday asked senior BJP leader Randhir Sharma to seek public apology for his “unsubstantiated and malicious” allegations against him or be ready to face defamation.
Through a legal notice to Sharma, Vikramaditya Singh asked him to tender apology within ten days for levelling baseless allegations against him and his family, failing which he would be forced to file a defamation case against him. Sharma had recently alleged that Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh owned a posh benami property at Delhi worth several crores through a company owned by his son and daughter. He also gave the money trail of the deal through the company, depicting irregularities.
Vikramaditra Singh said that the BJP leader was making unsubstantiated personal attack in sheer desperation and frustration as the ongoing probes on the basis of chargesheet submitted by the Congress party against the misrule and misdeeds of the previous BJP Government in the State were gaining momentum. He said that feeling the heat of the ongoing investigations, they were indulging in malicious propaganda and mud-slinging against the Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his family. He said that Virbhadra Singh has a 52 years long clean and committed political career behind him and he would not be cowed down by their threats.
