With opposition BJP targeting Congress Government in Himachal Pradesh for slow pace of development work, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has asked his Cabinet colleagues to spend some quality time in office.
The Chief Minister has also been perturbed with the absence of his Cabinet colleagues, including some senior Ministers from office in the State Capital and spending time in their constituencies. This has resulted in long queues of visitors thronging to the Chief Minister Office with work requests in the absence of respective Ministers.
In the Cabinet meeting, Virbhadra Singh showed his displeasure over the working of the Ministers and asked his colleagues to spend time in office, meet visitors and sought speedy clearance of pending files, related to development in the State.
The Chief Minister said the Ministers should spend at least four days at their respective offices in Secretariat and even take out time to meet people, coming from different parts of the State with some or other work request.
Sources said that it has come to the notice of the Chief Minister that most of the Ministers barring one or two are spending more time in their constituencies than spending time in their offices, which is taking toll on clearance of pending files.
Chief Minister also asked the Ministers to curb their long tours both inside and outside State unless and until very necessary and limit themselves to the office and lay focus on development work and implementation of people centric schemes.
long queues of people coming to the State Secretariat from different parts can be seen each day, outside the Chief Minister’s office or at different Minister’s office.
The nine month old Congress Government is coming under immense criticism from the opposition BJP for not implementing any single people friendly scheme and slow pace of development works in the state.
