The residents of Jassaur Kheri village where the much-hyped Global Centre for Nuclear Energy Partnership project is to be set up would get jobs in third and fourth class category in the Centre. The Union Government has asked the Centre’s director to ensure the job quota for the villagers.
Member of Parliament (MP) Deepender Hooda while talking to the media persons in Jhajjar on Sunday said that the villagers need not to worry about employment in the Global Centre for Nuclear Energy as the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh while accepting my demand has already asked the Centre’s director RK Sinha to make adequate numbers of jobs available for the village youths in this Centre. He added, “Similarly, thousands of jobs would also be provided to the people of this region in the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to be established in Badhsa village here.”
Notably, a day before, The Pioneer had reported that the residents of Jassuar Kheri village were not pleased with this project as neither the Prime Minister nor Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had made any announcement about employment opportunities in the Centre for the villagers who were eagerly waiting for attractive job packages for their children.
The villagers were even raising questions over the significance of this project for the villagers and its role in the development of the village, which is in dire needs for basic amenities and jobs for unemployed youth. Referring to the Gorakhpur Nuclear Power Plant, the MP said, “like Jassaur Kheri, he is also making efforts to ensure employment opportunities for people of those villages who had given their land to this power generation project.”
Taking a dig at those opposing the Gorakhpur power plant, Deepender Hooda asked them to furnish affidavits that they would not use the power to be generated in the plant if they did not want to let the project establish in real sense. He maintained that opposition of power plant in Gorakhpur was being done by the people to get political mileage but the people know the truth and was happy to have the fourth power generation plant in the State.
