Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Friday sought explanation from Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Multi-specialty Hospital, Kaithal for giving less honorarium to the employees engaged on contract basis in connivance with the contractor.
The Minister has also ordered disciplinary action against the officers and staff involved in this case.
During the surprise visit of Vij to the hospital on Thursday, the employee engaged on contract basis in the hospital had given a representation to him alleging connivance of CMO and their contractor.
The Safai Karmacharis too, made a complaint that they were given monthly wages of `3500 instead of `8100. Apart from this, the family members of patient namely lajo Devi also alleged that the doctors demanded `12,000 from them for her operation.
The Minister has also taken a serious note of complaint of charging `100 from patients by the hospital administration for hepatitis-C test and recommending alternative medicines to the patients other than those available in the hospital.
During the inspection, a TB patient also made a complaint to Vij for not getting treatment. After investigating the whole issue, the Minister had ordered immediate suspension of the doctor.
