Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President and Chancellor, Panjab University will be in the city on Wednesday to deliver a lecture at PU.
The PU will organise former Chhattisgarh Governor Balram Ji Dass Tandon memorial lecture in Law Auditorium on the premises where the Vice President will be the key speaker. Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore will also be present on the occasion.
Balram Ji Dass Tandon, founding member of the erstwhile Jan Sangh had passed away last year. His son Sanjay Tandon is Chandigarh’s BJP president and a member of PU senate.
The PU authorities have issued directions in view of security measures for the movement of the VIP vehicles on the premises. The programme will begin at 10 am and conclude by 12 noon.
The Traffic Police has asked the students and visitors to Panjab University not to park their vehicles on the road side in the PU campus on August 14 otherwise it will be tow-away by the police.
The PU gate number one will remain open for entry and exit from 6 am to 9 am and after 1 pm while gate number two will remain open for entry and exit throughout the day.
