In a major relief to around 48,000 families residing in various categories of Chandigarh Housing board (CHB) dwelling units, the UT administration on Monday authorised CHB to amend clause F(IV) of the order related to the ‘need based changes’.
“The owner shall now submit his request for regularisation of need based changes along with required documents by December 31, 2015. The compounding fee to be charged for regularisation shall not be less than fee charged by Estate office, UT, Chandigarh from time to time,” said a UT spokesperson.
This would be a major relief for those violators, who were getting notices from the CHB almost every month. Now, they would be able to regularise the violations but within certain parameters.
Sources said that it is partial relief to the violators as administration has stated that
“The allottees of the CHB flats/houses can submit their requests along with detailed design/layout plans accordingly”.
“If a person would have encroached more than 100 percent area for need based changes, it would not be regularised, sources added.
